Clubenza vs SportsEngine
for small travel clubs

SportsEngine is one of the biggest names in youth sports software, and for a league with hundreds of teams it earns that. A travel club with three teams is a different animal. Here is where the two part ways.

The fee families don’t see on your price list

Large registration platforms are often inexpensive for the organization because the cost is collected from families as a fee on each payment. For a league with thousands of registrations, that model works. For a travel club collecting a deposit and a balance from a few dozen families, it means money leaving your families with nothing to show for it.

Clubenza is priced the other way around. The club pays a flat monthly fee and families pay only your dues, into your Stripe account, with Stripe’s card processing as the only cost on top.

Leagues register. Clubs select.

League software starts at the registration form because a league takes everyone who signs up. A travel club holds a tryout, picks players, and sends offers. That selection step is the whole season for a director, and it usually lives in text messages. Clubenza is built around it: interest form, offer, accept, deposit, waiver, balance, with reminders sent for you.

Who should pick which

Pick SportsEngine if you run a league or association: many teams, open registration, standings, a season schedule you publish, and a registrar on staff. That is what it is built for, and a small club pays for all of it whether it uses it or not.

Pick Clubenza if you run an independent travel club and your actual problems are the website, tryouts, roster offers, deposits, and dues. You'll pay one flat fee, keep every dollar of dues, and put the club's name on the site instead of ours.
