Clubenza vs TeamSnap
for travel baseball clubs
These two solve different problems, and plenty of clubs will end up with both. TeamSnap is the app in every parent's pocket for schedules, availability, and chat. Clubenza is the system the club director runs: the website, tryout interest, roster offers, deposits, waivers, and dues.
| TeamSnap | Clubenza | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Teams and the parents on them. The organization tier adds registration and a website on top of the team app. | The club as a business: a director running one to ten teams through a season. |
| The core job | Communication. Schedules, availability, messaging, and photos. | Operations. Tryout interest form, roster offer, deposit, waiver, balance, reminder. |
| Your website | A club site is part of the organization plan, on TeamSnap's templates. | A club website system on your own domain, with your logo and colors, linking to the tools you already use. |
| Who pays | Plans are priced per team or per organization, and registration payments carry a processing fee families pay. | The club pays a flat monthly fee. Clubenza takes no cut of dues or registrations. Families pay into your own Stripe account, with only Stripe's card processing fee. |
| Roster offers and deposits | Registration is a form and a payment. The tryout-to-offer step is yours to run by text. | Offers with deadlines, accepted online, with the deposit collected on acceptance and reminders sent automatically. |
| Scoring and stats | Not a scoring app either; most baseball teams pair it with GameChanger. | Same. Your site links to GameChanger for schedules and scores. |
| Mobile app | Yes, and it's the reason parents like it. | No app. The dashboard and the family-facing forms are web pages that work on a phone. |
| Setup | Self-serve. | Self-serve, or a one-time concierge setup where we build the site and connect payments with you. |
Where the money goes
The biggest structural difference is who pays for the software. Team apps and league registration platforms are usually cheap or free to the club because families pay a fee on every registration and dues payment. Over a season of deposits and balances for a few teams, that adds up to real money leaving your families’ pockets.
Clubenza charges the club a flat monthly fee and takes nothing from payments. Your families pay your dues into your Stripe account. The only cost on top is Stripe’s own card processing, which you’d pay with any processor.
The step nobody models
Travel clubs don’t register players, they select them. Tryout, offer, acceptance, deposit. Most software starts at the registration form and leaves the offer step to text messages. Clubenza starts at the interest form and sends the offers for you, with a deadline, an accept button, and the deposit on the same page.
Who should pick which
Pick TeamSnap if the problem you have is parents missing practice and a group chat that has gotten out of hand. It is a good team app, and nothing on this page replaces it.
Pick Clubenza if the problem is the business side: tryouts run through Google Forms, deposits chased over Venmo, a spreadsheet of who has paid and signed, and a club website that looks like the vendor instead of the club. Keep TeamSnap for the team chat if you like it.
